Maximum Science Fiction

ZIND - Is an experimental electronic music project started in 1999. Throughout the early '00's ZIND helped establish the no longer underground experimental electronic scene in Baltimore, Maryland, playing many, many shows and opening for such acts as METAL URBAN, DAN DEACON, AHLEUCHATISTAS, RICHARD PINHAS of HELDON, ABIKU and pretty much every electronic band in Baltimore at the time.

ZIND the live incarnation, was called Telekinesis For Cats amongst other names and featured a constantly rotating line-up, but the outlandish nature of the performances made the endeavor impossible to gel into ZIND proper and the experiment was abandoned. The live recordings of this project remain and will be released as a compilation in 2010.

Wild, swelling synthesizers wrap around hard dub beats to form a sonic soup of interstellar soundtracks on the first three albums, while vocals, guitars and video experiments rule the later releases.From minimal to maximal, a sound collage of amber future nightmares.

ZIND founder, Mars went on to form Shrantones (The) in 2005 and the related, but short lived "spaz-electro" solo project called Retarded Garfield. Since then, ZIND has been in "semi-retirement" as far as live performance of electronics are concerned and has been centered mainly around soundtrack and remix work.
